I hope these victories—and hopefully more victories on appeal—will help break the fever among some rights-holder groups regarding digital uses of books and other copyrighted works. I think time has shown that what libraries are doing in these cases is not disruptive to authors’ and publishers’ legitimate business—that’s why we’re winning all these fair use cases.
